Adding Line Items

11 Ways to Add a Line Item​

  • Use the keyboard to type in an inventory item by title, SKU or storage location
  • Use a 3rd-party scanner to scan a QR code or barcode (we recommend the Durascan D740)
  • Use your mobile device to scan the QR code of an inventory item
  • Use an RFID reader to read an item's RFID tag (see Scanning)
  • Click the camera icon next to the "Add Item to Order" box to find an item from a photo
  • Add an inventory item while on the order see below
  • Add a Generic Items
  • Add several at once with Add Multiple Line Items: new items from photos (one line item per photo), existing items by SKU, or generic items
  • Duplicate an existing line item
  • Split a line item
  • Copy a line item from one order to another order
  • Add Replicas from a Master item see below

The main button next to the "Add Item to Order" box is whichever option you choose for Primary Add Line Item Option in your Order Settings. The other options are in its dropdown.

When you add an item to an order:

  • An order can have up to 500 line items.
  • The item's purchase type has to fit the order type. "Sales Only" orders take only sale items, "Rentals Only" orders only rental items and "Assets Only" orders only Asset items.
  • On a Confirmed order, the box is labeled Ready Item for Pickup. Choosing or scanning an item that's already on the order marks it Ready for Pickup instead of adding it again. See Adding line items by scanning.
  • On an Extended Rental order, Propcart asks you to confirm before adding an item that wasn't on the original order.

Adding Line Items with a 3rd-party Scanner​

We recommend this Durascan D740 scanner, but most bluetooth enabled or USB connected scanners should work.

To use a 3rd-party scanner, click the Use scanner button above the "Add Item to Order" input field.

The placeholder should now read "Scan barcode or QR code" and the button changed to read "Use keyboard".

Click inside the input field. Scan any barcode or QR code to add the SKU to the order.
